Solar Maintenance Technician (O&M Engineer)

Republic of Ireland | Field-Based | Full-Time

ARM is recruiting a Solar Maintenance Technician / O&M Engineer to support utility-scale solar PV operations across the Republic of Ireland. This is a field-based role focused on maintaining high plant performance, reliability, and safety.

Role Overview

You will be responsible for monitoring, maintaining, troubleshooting, and optimising solar PV systems through planned and reactive maintenance, fault diagnosis, and performance analysis.

Key Responsibilities

• Monitor plant performance via SCADA and analyse KPIs (e.g. performance ratio)
• Carry out preventive and corrective maintenance on PV systems and electrical infrastructure
• Diagnose faults and complete repairs on inverters, string circuits, and PV arrays
• Investigate performance issues and support root cause analysis
• Maintain accurate maintenance records and compliance documentation
• Ensure all work is completed in line with health and safety standards

Requirements

• Electrical/Engineering qualification (or equivalent)
• 2+ years' experience in solar PV or electrical maintenance
• Ability to read single line diagrams and schematics
• Experience with LV systems and MV up to 22kV
• Knowledge of DC systems and power system protection
• Strong IT and communication skills
• Full driving licence (Republic of Ireland)
• Willingness to travel and work in field conditions
