Data Consultant in Reading, Berkshire

We're looking for an SC-cleared Data Engineer to join a large-scale enterprise data programme, helping build and support modern cloud-based data platforms.

Key Responsibilities

• Build, maintain and optimise ETL/ELT data pipelines.
• Integrate data from multiple structured and unstructured sources.
• Develop data models and datasets for reporting and analytics.
• Monitor pipeline performance and resolve data quality issues.
• Support enterprise data platforms and cloud-based services.
• Collaborate with analysts, engineers and business stakeholders.
• Contribute to CI/CD, DataOps and automation initiatives.
• Produce technical documentation and support operational improvements.

Essential Skills

• Active SC clearance.
• Experience building data pipelines using SQL and Python.
• Knowledge of relational databases and data modelling.
• Understanding of ETL/ELT processes and data integration.
• Experience with Git and Agile delivery.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
• Excellent communication and stakeholder engagement.

Desirable Skills

• Microsoft Azure, AWS or Google Cloud experience.
• Microsoft Fabric, Azure Data Factory or Databricks.
• Power BI or similar analytics tools.
• APIs and data ingestion technologies.
• CI/CD and DataOps practices.
• Docker and Kubernetes.
• Azure certifications (AZ-900, DP-900) or equivalent.
