PermanentWe are looking for a Quality Supplier Engineer for one of our aerospace clients in Farnborough. The clients are an R&D company that design and manufacture components for the aerospace industry. They are leading global producers of aerospace components and subsystems.
The job
Your day to role will be to a supplier quality engineer and will evaluate and audit current supply base ensuring that regulatory, customer and business quality requirements are adhered to. You will also be dealing with supplier through development programmes to make sure company needs is met by the clients. In this role, you will be expected to travel for 20 percent of the role.
Main responsibilities.
* You will play a crucial part to the supply chain and facilitate purchasing and engineering in researching, as well as sourcing the best vendors to supply the martials.
* You will also provide technical information and oversee the supplier order when required to reduce overall cost as well as defect, observing and manufacturing.
* You will participate in cross functional teams conducting supplier/sub-tier selection.
* You will also be conducting audits as well as internal process and environmental audits to company specification.
* You will be expected to maintain appropriate records of supplier approval, certificates, audits visit and performance to make sure customer satisfaction and requirements is being met. You must also generate quality and performance metrics and report regularly.
* You will manage supplier and sub-tier process and manage corrective action requests to make sure preventive measures are undertaken to resolve issues.
* You must manage customer quality issues to make sure problems are resolved in a timely manner.
* You will review quality problems with operations personel and direct actions for correct discrepancies.
* You will be Assist Engineering for ECN (Engineering Change Notes)
* You will be in line of DFMEAs and PFMEAs (AS13004 standard)
* Assist in the generation of Process Capability Studies following AS13006 - Process Control Methods standard.
* Assist in the generation of part Appearance Approval report.
* Review and approve Supplier/Sub-tier First Article Inspection Reports (FAIR)
* You will facilitate problem solving activities and manufacturing improvements using 8D, DMAIC or other quality tools.
Essential
* Be prepared to travel 20 percent of the time.
* Must be eligible for clearance.
