ARM are working with a Global Engineering firm that are looking for a Senior Electronics Engineer to join the experienced team in Chippenham. This is a fantastic opportunity to progress your career in a reputable business while working on the biggest rail infrastructure projects in the UK.
About You:
You will be an experienced Senior Electronics Engineer with a background in R&D. Specifically, you will have:
- Degree or higher qualifications in Electronic Engineering or a similar related discipline.
- Expert in analogue electronic engineering knowledge, with strong analytical skills and familiarity with SPICE simulators.
- Expert in Digital electronics, ideally with proficient knowledge of VHDL
- Experience in a low/medium volume manufacturing environment with knowledge of using PLM tools
- Self-motivated and commercially astute, with leadership and communication skills to supervise more junior engineers as required
- Experienced in use of CAD/CAE tools (ideally Mentor Graphics)
- Experience with writing technical reports and knowledge of standard office applications
- Experience of design for EMC compliance
- Experience of working in a team environment focused on project delivery
- Possess strong communication and presentation skills
- Understanding of the rigorous requirements of a safety-critical environment
- Knowledge of IEC 61508
- Knowledge of RAM or CENELEC standards would be highly beneficial, but is not necessary
What you will be doing:
- Design of electronic products for railway signalling and control, working locally in a small R&D team but as part of the company wide development community.
- Whole lifecycle responsibility from requirements capture to manufacturing
- Guide / Mentor Junior Engineers in the team
- Checking and approval of design, calculations, results and documents produced by other members of the team
This is a full-time permanent role based from the office in Chippenham on a hybrid basis, with an average of 2/3 days per week in the office depending on project requirements
