PermanentWe are looking for a Senior Quality Engineer for one of our aerospace clients in Hampshire. The clients are an R&D company that design and manufacture components for the aerospace industry.
The Job
This position supports all external Quality Assurance efforts. External elements such as customers and suppliers provide several inputs to our business. This position will report to the Quality Assurance Manager and will fill in for them while they are absent. You will be responsible for maintaining and improving the needed External Quality Activities. Customer satisfaction and supplier development efforts are supported and carried out. Reporting on actions and improvements to meet organisational objectives.
Main responsibilities
* You will be the initial point of contact for consumers experiencing problems.
* You'll oversee handling the customer returns process, collaborating with Internal Quality Engineers, and reporting progress to Customer Services and the Quality Assurance Manager.
* You will do internal audits on systems, the environment, products, and processes, as well as external audits on existing and new suppliers.
* You will be assisting with Supplier Development and Major Impact Incidents.
* You will enable issue resolution and improvement efforts largely inside the supply chain but will occasionally support internal operations as needed, utilising 8D, DMAIC, or other quality techniques.
Essential experience
* Excellent ability in Problem Resolution with 8D and other tools is essential - Preferably to AS13000 Standard
* Degree in electromechanical engineering or equivalent professional experience
* 5 Years minimum in a Manufacturing Quality Engineering role
* Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Outlook.
* Must have high bandwidth for multiple and concurrent projects.
* Must have a Valid Driver's licence.
Desirable experience
* Familiar with AESQ and the associated Reference Manuals
* Completion of CAA Part 21 Subpart G awareness training
* Valid AS13001 Certificate - or ability to gain certification.
