Senior Electrical Design Engineer

You will be working with a leading Defence and Aerospace company as a Senior Electrical Design Engineer on a contract basis Outside IR35.

You will be leading the technical electrical engineering of hardware within a submarine programme as the Senior Electrical Design Engineer.

Within the first 12 months, you'll be leading a work package to design electrical based hardware for use on a Royal Navy submarine with potential to oversee production.

Your responsibilities will include:

• Lead electrical design engineering for new control systems for Naval applications
• Lead the creation, modification, maintenance and management of electrical designs
• Create, review and sign off technical documentation associated with electrical engineering
• Support the analysis and justification of electrical based designs and component selection in accordance with functional safety standards
• Provide clear guidance for other Electrical Design Engineers to support programme delivery

The experience you will require are:

• 5+ years as an Electrical Engineer
• Degree in Electrical Engineering or similar
• Understanding of Programmable Logic Controller (PLC) and control panel design to high standards, including functional safety related functions
• Ability to lead on the creation and management of electrical schematics using AutoCAD Electrical
• Understanding of Electromagnetic Compatibility (EMC) requirements and application into design
