Laboratory Technician in St. Austell, Cornwall

PermanentDue to continued expansion an opportunity has arisen to employ a Laboratory Analyst in a permanent role. Required as soon as possible, the successful applicant will be in our office based in our Head office in the St Austell area.
Key Requirements:
- Work safety and follow all Health and Safety procedures.
- Sort, log in, prepare samples and carry out analytical testing.
- Be competent and experienced with the QC spreadsheet.
- Write brief reports summarising customer project work programmes and contribute to technical meetings as required.
- Prepare and update sample storage spreadsheet, box numbers and labels for storage of samples
- Prepare lab grinds as required as a competent user of the lab SMD.
- Assist in devising and assembling equipment needed to carry out experiments, as and when required.
The Ideal Candidate:
- Educated to NVQ/A level or equivalent, in science or engineering subject.
- Evidence of hands-on practical lab work and written scientific English.
- Computer literate
- High level of EHS & Chemical awareness.
- The ability to take the initiative and work with limited supervision.
- Be able to demonstrate problem solving skills.
- Competent IT user - Word, Excel, Powerpoint, Sharepoint, Onedrive and Apps.
- Full driving license and business insurance.
