Laboratory Technician in St. Austell, Cornwall

Due to continued expansion an opportunity has arisen to employ a Laboratory Analyst in a permanent role. Required as soon as possible, the successful applicant will be in our office based in our Head office in the St Austell area.

Key Requirements:

• Work safety and follow all Health and Safety procedures.
• Sort, log in, prepare samples and carry out analytical testing.
• Be competent and experienced with the QC spreadsheet.
• Write brief reports summarising customer project work programmes and contribute to technical meetings as required.
• Prepare and update sample storage spreadsheet, box numbers and labels for storage of samples
• Prepare lab grinds as required as a competent user of the lab SMD.
• Assist in devising and assembling equipment needed to carry out experiments, as and when required.

The Ideal Candidate:

• Educated to NVQ/A level or equivalent, in science or engineering subject.
• Evidence of hands-on practical lab work and written scientific English.
• Computer literate
• High level of EHS & Chemical awareness.
• The ability to take the initiative and work with limited supervision.
• Be able to demonstrate problem solving skills.
• Competent IT user - Word, Excel, Powerpoint, Sharepoint, Onedrive and Apps.
• Full driving license and business insurance.
