Reporting To: Managing Director & Fleet Manager
Purpose:
Act as a safety ambassador, fostering a strong safety culture and ensuring adherence to safety policies. Implement and maintain the Safety Management System (SMS) ashore and onboard vessels. Support safety initiatives to enhance awareness and improve safety performance. Represent the company for QA/HSSE matters, working closely with leadership and stakeholders. Promote the "Safety First" approach across all operations.
Key Responsibilities:
- Implement and maintain the company's Harmonized Management System (HMS) on board and ashore.
- Coordinate and manage HMS documentation and records.
- Planned and conducted internal and external quality and safety audits.
- Participate in HSSEQ-related meetings and drive personnel training programs.
- Collaborate with customers, contractors, and partners on HSSEQ issues.
- Identify and address quality and safety concerns, including reporting and investigating incidents.
- Provide inductions and training on HSSEQ systems and policies.
- Maintain safety statistics and lead work site inspections.
- Evaluate and enhance emergency plans, ensuring compliance with international and local regulations.
- Lead incident investigations, reporting findings to management.
- Oversee PPE usage and ensure adherence to safety standards.
Qualifications & Experience:
- Tertiary education; marine, offshore, or shipping background preferred.
- Qualifications in QA/HSSE/NEBOSH or related fields.
- Knowledge of the towage or offshore industry and Safety Management Systems.
- Proficiency in English, IT systems, and MS Office tools.
- Familiarity with ISM/SMS principles and procedures.
- Flexible to travel locally and regionally.
