Financial Accountant in Basildon, Essex

Financial Accountant - Basildon - 6 Month Contract - £400 per day (Umbrella) Inside IR35

ARM is delighted to be recruiting for a local authority who are actively seeking a Financial Accountant to join them on a contract basis.

The role requires someone able to motivate other members and is experienced in leading a team ideally.

Responsibilities:

* Supporting the delivery of the corporate plan and the service leads on ensuring that the business has a sustainable financial position.
* As a Financial Accountant you will be able to motivate individuals, give clear direction and support staff to complete the work of the Financial Accounting team
* You will be experienced in managing a team of workers and experience of managing the closure of accounts process will be an advantage
* Knowledge of local authority VAT will also be beneficial.
* Supporting the financial manager when possible

Requirements:

* Fully qualified (ACA/ACCA/CIMA) Accountant with a minimum 1-2 years post-qualification experience
* Strong financial accounting background
* Excellent systems skills with experience of Excel modeling and ERP environments
* Ability to prioritise workloads effectively and meet deadlines
* Excellent oral & written communication skills
