As the Electrical Assembly Technician, you will be working alongside a market-leading Defence and Aerospace company who are constantly growing and developing. They are always looking to bring on new talents such as yourself and further develop your skills to enable you to grow within the company and industry!
You will be involved in:
- Assemble, terminate, and inspect cable harnesses, wiring looms, and electro-mechanical assemblies in accordance with engineering drawings and manufacturing specifications
- Perform wire preparation tasks including crimping, soldering, connector assembly, lacing, bundling, and harness dressing to military and customer-defined standards
- Install heat shrink tubing, backshells, strain reliefs, shielding, and identification markers in line with build documentation
- Conduct in-process self-inspection and quality verification throughout assembly
- Carry out electrical testing including continuity, insulation resistance, and functional testing using approved equipment
- Maintain full traceability and accurately complete all manufacturing and quality records
- Identify non-conformances and support corrective action activities as required
- Adhere to safe working practices and comply with all health, safety, and quality standards
Your skillset & experience:
- Proven experience in cable harness assembly, wiring looms, or electro-mechanical assembly
- Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings, schematics, wiring schedules, and build instructions
- Hands-on experience with crimping, soldering, cable preparation, and connector assembly techniques
- Awareness of IPC/WHMA-A-620 - Requirements and Acceptance for Cable and Wire Harness Assemblies
- Awareness of J-STD-001 - Requirements for Soldered Electrical and Electronic Assemblies
- Military and defence manufacturing standards
