An exciting opportunity has arisen to work with one of our largest Aerospace companies in the UK!
You will help to bring to market our next generation of Power and Avionics products by leading and performing Hardware certification activities. You'll define Hardware certification strategies, develop means of compliance and support projects in their implementation and execution of these to demonstrate compliance. You'll be a recognised expert within this specialised field, able to develop and execute objectives for self and others, using coaching and mentoring to do so.
You will help to bring to market our next generation of Power and Avionics products by leading and performing Hardware certification activities. You'll define Hardware certification strategies, develop means of compliance and support projects in their implementation and execution of these to demonstrate compliance. You'll be a recognised expert within this specialised field, able to develop and execute objectives for self and others, using coaching and mentoring to do so.
Definition of project / program certification strategy:
* Determination/definition of Certification Means of Compliance
* Support / contribution to creation of cohesive project plans
* Review of development artefacts, where applicable
* Perform certification audit pre-assessments both of internal projects and external suppliers
* Support to Customer AR / Regulatory Authority audits
* Support and collaboration with Integrated Project Teams to resolve audit Findings/Actions/Observations
* Support to / participation in industry working groups
* Support other company businesses, suppliers and internal / external customers
* Leverage expertise to resolve problems in the field or during the manufacturing processes
* Staff development, both within Certification and the wider engineering community, through technical guidance, coaching and mentoring of less experienced engineers
* Develop and implement training modules as necessary
* Protect the Intellectual Property rights of the Company
Qualifications / Requirements:
* At least 8 years' experience in Hardware Engineering of a high integrity Avionics Product
* Extensive knowledge of working in a DO-254 Level A environment or equivalent
* Experience of demonstrating compliance to US (FAA) and European (EASA) civil certification regulations
* Science based Degree (or equivalent) in either Aerospace, Avionics or Systems Engineering, Engineering, Electronic, Electrical, Hardware Engineering, Computing for Real-Time Systems, Electronics and Software Engineering (but not IT-based degrees) or equivalent knowledge and experience
* Strong oral and written communication skills
* Strong interpersonal and leadership skills
* Ability to influence others and lead small teams
* Lead initiatives of moderate scope and impact
* Ability to coordinate several projects simultaneously
* Effective problem identification and solution skills
* Proven analytical and organisational ability
