Gordon Murray Automotive is a UK-based global luxury brand dedicated to creating and manufacturing the world's greatest driving cars. These ultra-exclusive cars are engineered and designed without compromise to provide unrivalled driving experiences and driver-centric connection.
We are building our Bespoke and Series Engineering team to deliver customer requests to make each of our cars truly unique. Within this role you will be working alongside designers, sales, suppliers, quality, purchasing and manufacturing as an integral part of the team delivering to the highest of expectations.
Responsibilities:
ยท Delivery of innovative solutions to customer requests, ensuring the highest level of quality and craftsmanship to exceed customer expectations
ยท Business case contribution of specific features or systems including investment, BoM, development and resource forecasting
ยท Completion of engineering deliverables such as technical specifications, DFMEA, 2D/3D CAD, DFM, engineering release, DVP requirements, supplier management and managing engineering change
ยท Constructing and maintaining high-level timing plans for each vehicle project from conception through to design release, SOP and to specific customer vehicle builds
ยท Working with Chief engineers/programme managers to ensure project specific plans are aligned and timed accordingly
ยท Support purchasing and project principals to ensure supplier deliverables, lead times and part delivery are accurately considered
ยท Work closely with manufacturing to ensure seamless introduction of bespoke content into production
ยท Feasibility assessments supporting the bespoke customer request team to provide accurate cost and lead time forecasting
ยท Engineering change request documentation completion/presentation with purchasing, quality and manufacturing input
ยท Support and lead issue resolution and implement preventative actions

ยท Ensure that your technical knowledge and expertise is kept up to date
ยท Mentor and support professional development of all colleagues, particularly junior staff
ยท Perform any other duties that may well be reasonably expected within the remit of the role
ยท Ensure compliance with the Health, Safety and Environmental Policy requirements within areas of responsibility
ยท Maintain a positive and motivated attitude to drive projects from inception through to completion
Experience and Qualifications:
ยท Degree or Equivalent in engineering, science or related discipline
ยท Delivery experience of technical products within the automotive or a related industry
ยท 3D and 2D CAD
ยท Understanding of the product development life cycle from business case inception through to manufacture and in service support
ยท Experience of APQP or similar quality integration into project delivery processes with new model introduction requirements
ยท Ability to Travel in the UK and internationally as required. (Most of our supplier base is in the UK)
ยท Competent in standard MS Office packages, advanced Excel skills would be an advantage
ยท Understanding of automotive FMVSS and ECE regulations for body exterior systems would be advantageous
