Vehicle Package Expert in Gaydon, Warwickshire

Job Purpose:

Lead package activity on programs developing and ensuring consistent adoption of approved standards and methods

Key Duties & Responsibilities:

• Actively seek best practice techniques and tools to constantly improve efficiency and accuracy of Component, system and vehicle level packaging Maintain fixings database
• Cascade best practice to create hardpoints through reference geometric package CAD, to meet PALs and PBR targets and in line with Platform hardpoints issued by the Concept Leads.
• Coordinate package Layout creation in both 2D and 3D CAD, across package zone engineers.
• Give direction on component location with PMT and PMST reps to achieve efficient package safeguarding customer space targets and protecting legal and functional geometric requirements
• Coordinate and Create engineering CAD design and drawings to enable build and modification of physical package bucks in support of target setting and solution evaluation
• Project manage creation and modifications to package bucks and coordinate evaluation trials in support of target setting and balancing.
• Run package zone meetings and provide package schemes to resolve cross functional issues
• Raise and lead resolution of package related concerns and provide escalation.
• Escalate package issues through Senior Manager, where Cost, quality or timing are compromised, at technical forums, providing KPI's where required.
• Plan Virtual Series package activities including ensuring delivery of CAD from PMTs to required maturity and conducting package target compliance analysis.
• Support Certification activity with Package DV evidence in accordance with program requirements
• Support Marketing functions with CAD and Dimensional data relating to vehicle package

Qualification & Experience:

• CAD User - preferably NX
• Experienced in whole vehicle package
• Knowledge of vehicle legislative requirements
• Working knowledge of vehicle attributes
• Competent user of MS Tools; Project, Excel, Powerpoint and word.
• Good presentation skills and techniques.
• A working knowledge of Teamcentre
• Must be a good communicator, with good organisation skills.
• Strong time management, accuracy, diligence and ability to balance and prioritise multiple tasks to meet customer needs.
• Experience and passion for working with sports cars
• Engineering Degree or equivalent
• AML Level 3 driving permit for benchmarking
• Educated to degree level or equivalent within an engineering related discipline preferably with materials experience.
