Valkyrie Senior Engineer in Gaydon, Warwickshire

PermanentJob Purpose:
- The candidate will be required to support the workshop controller and Head of Valkyrie Aftersales to motivate and lead the team of mechanics through effective communication
- Ensure effective team working by efficient use of labour/resource in conjunction with the Workshop Controller
- Ensure work is carried out to the highest standards by implementing quality control and assurance processes
- Assist mechanics with diagnosis and support when required
- Maintain record keeping on all works carried out by the team
- Feeding back information found in the field to the wider business via the field control room process
- Driving improvements in all areas to increase productivity and efficiency
Key Duties & Responsibilities:
- Motivate and lead the team in the development of world class performance in the establishment of housekeeping principles and adherence to safety/environmental regulations in line with a culture that leads a team of self-discipline and control
- Vehicle service and repair.
- Vehicle track preparation
- Vehicle set-up.
- Vehicle build.
- Strip and inspect parts.
- Measure components.
- Fabrication of components.
- HV component assembly and operation (training provided).
- Hydraulic system assembly, bleed procedure and operation (training provided).
- Support "flying spanner" activities.
- Liaise with system and development engineers regarding possible issues identified.
- Problem solving to aid in solution of current vehicle issues.
Qualification & Experience:
- Development or Motorsport experience
- Ability to perform detailed vehicle inspections and produce reports
- Failure investigations and problem solving
- Working across functional teams effectively
- Positive, can do attitude is a must
- Leadership of teams in a fast paced environment
- Prioritize multiple tasks on a day-to-day level.
- Must be flexible and able to communicate at all levels.
- Willingness to achieve targets.
- Proven track record of team leadership
- Valkyrie working knowledge
- High level motorsport experience
- HV safety training
- F-Gas training
- Degree in a relevant subject - mechanical, electrical,

- Strong technical skills and understanding of engineering fundamentals
- Creative thinking and problem-solving
- Strong teamworking skills are required to ensure effective communication and collaboration across functional teams
- Ability to ensure the highest standard of workmanship is maintained from yourself and your crew
