Technical Buyer in Northampton, Northamptonshire

PermanentARM are delighted to be supporting an Engineering Services provider for the role of a Technical Buyer on a permanent basis, based in Northampton.
The Technical Buyer will work closely with the technical, commercial, logistics and project teams to ensure all components and services are procured on-time.
Responsibilities:
* Lead the procurement function to ensure project and departmental objectives are achieved
* Ensure sufficient resources are available to satisfy project and departmental targets
* Support business Quality System certification activities
* Understand and advise on materials, manufacturing processes and latest industry innovations
* Work within the corporate framework of systems, policy and procedures
* Work with Supplier Quality to evaluate and re-evaluate suppliers
* Ensure that the business is commercially protected
Requirements:
* Previous responsibility and accountability gained from a similar role and environment
* A high capability in understanding drawings and technical information
* SAP experience would be ideal
* Excellent IT skills including Excel
* Experience of using MRP /ERP systems
* Strong stakeholder engagement skills
* Ability to work independently
