My client in the utilities industry are looking for a Citrix focused Infrastructure Architect for an initial 6-month engagement to deliver technical design specifications for multiple internal projects across the group. This will include both Public Cloud (MS-Azure) and on-premise designs, new designs and/or updates to existing deployments models, plus oversight of supporting implementation and delivery.
Core skills must include: -
Citrix Virtual Apps / Desktops - from version 6.5 upwards (XenApp)
Previous knowledge and experience of deploying either new or modifications to existing Citrix infrastructure setup and configuration
Citrix NetScaler / Load Balancing, Remote Access experience
Use of Citrix within a MS-Azure setup and configuration
Strong infrastructure architecture design and implementation experience
Strong Windows Server 2008/R2, 2012/R2, 2016, 2019 server background on both physical and virtual infrastructure
Active Directory / Group Policy
Experience with networking technologies, firewalls, switches, routers / VLan's / DNS / DHCP
Firewalls (Checkpoint an advantage)
Load Balancing
VPN / VPN profiles
MS-Azure (General)
Azure AD Proxy
Azure IaaS / PaaS components
Azure Storage / Networking
Hyper-V (2016 / 2019)
Office 365 / Conditional Access / Azure Active Directory / Azure MFA
The candidate must be able to-
Ability to take a flexible approach to design with limited defined 'as is' architecture and NFR's
Ability to ensure architecture designs follow internal standards
Ability to produce relevant architecture documentation including high, and low-level details
Exposure to multiple, diverse technologies and processing environments
Excellent interpersonal skills in areas such as teamwork, facilitation and negotiation
Excellent communications skills, including the ability to present technical designs
Excellent analytical and technical skills
Good understanding of Agile delivery frameworks
Additional desirable skills: -
Previous exposure / knowledge working within the UK based utilities sector
