Systems Engineer in Hampshire

PermanentResponsibilities
- Using a wide range of knowledge, abilities, and expertise in the governance, methodologies, and techniques of systems engineering to design and develop solutions and address engineering difficulties and problems for a variety of goods and engineering circumstances.
- Using systems engineering principles throughout the whole engineering lifecycle to design and create systems.
- Recognise and break down requirements into system and sub-system level components, then manage them using a set of approved tools like IBM DOORS Next.
- Decomposing system designs, modelling their architecture down to the subsystem level, defining interfaces, and managing their architectural models using cutting-edge tools like Cameo Systems Modeller.
- Create evidence of customer acceptance by defining and articulating acceptance strategies to ensure requirement compliance at each level of system design.
- Executing planning and execution for system integration tests.
- Keeping up with modern engineering practises, such as Model Based Engineering (MBE/MBSE), digital threads, cyber security, and safety protocols.
Your skills and experiences
- Systems thinking, applying holistic approaches to difficult issues, and has a solid understanding of the engineering ideas and methods that support design and development operations.
- Exhibits expertise, knowledge, and experience in systems engineering, which may include familiarity with standards for systems engineering (such as ISO 15288)
- Knowledge of and experience with high level design methodologies (such as UAF, NAF, TOGAF, SysML, and UML).
- Knowledge of some components of an engineering lifecycle, including knowledge of lifecycle models like Waterfall and Agile as well as related tools like JIRA. - Experience with requirements management and configuration management.
- Knowledge of how to effectively convey both technical and non-technical information in a formal setting - Additional training (or comparable experience) in a relevant STEM discipline
