We are looking for a Systems Engineer to support the defining of the technical solution and the development of the SI solution for one of the multiple platforms upon which SI is available. This will cover a broad range of systems design technical skills.
Day to Day you will -
Support and prepare specifications, develop designs in line with specifications and all quality and technical standards, and carry out design appraisals in assigned areas to ensure all standards are maintained
Carry out complex technical analyses and investigations, including evaluation and selection of technical options, and prepare reports with suggested recommendations to support the resolution of problems and the improvement of engineering capability
Act as a point of contact with customers and/or suppliers in assigned areas on engineering matters, to resolve complex problems and issues and to maintain awareness in both parties of priorities and objectives
Act as support to the Technical Lead in this domain, guiding people as required and acting as the focal point for determining and reviewing technical solutions
Support the preparation of bids in area(s) of expertise to facilitate the development of the highest quality bids
Your skills and experiences:
Skills we are looking for -
Possesses good knowledge and experience in a number of the following areas: General Combat Systems, System Design, Requirements Analysis, Software Development, VMWare product suite or similar technology including virtualisation, servers, storage, HCI technology
Able to document high level design and rationale solutions for low level designers/implementation teams to consume
Experience in engineering within the defence industry
Good understanding of LCM, demonstrating experience within a development environment across multiple phases
Engineers at all levels should possess an academic qualification in Engineering or other related STEM subjects as well as specific (either academic or professional) qualifications and become recognised as Incorporated or Chartered Engineers through an appropriate recognised professional institution. Engineers are encouraged, and will be supported, to achieve the relevant accreditation. Preference will be given to candidates who are already professionally registered
