* Help the Project Manager run development using Agile frameworks.
* Facilitate estimation sessions to help plan and cost new work.
* Test or help to test applications and system changes when required.

PERSON SPECIFICATION
Technical & Professional Skills
* Experience in systems analysis and design of new applications and enhancements to existing applications.

* Knowledge of Agile/iterative development methodologies.
* Ability to work with Team Foundation Server in creating user stories, tasks and grooming backlogs.
* Good estimation skills and the ability to work with developers to create development estimates, for example in a poker planning session.
* Good SQL and database design skills.
* Experience of structured test plans and their execution, including on systems that may not be familiar to you.
* Experience in assessing 3rd party tools/software and carrying out gap analysis.
* The role requires some experience of the full systems development lifecycle from inception to support.
* Knowledge of service-orientated architecture and domain driven design would be an advantage.
* Exposure to Project Management.
* Experience of the media industry, especially broadcasting, would be a distinct advantage - but is by no means essential to the role.
- Knowledge of composable architecture and microservices would be an advantage
- Experience in cloud technologies, AWS and/or Azure.
Autonomy/Judgement/Decision Making
* Acumen to identify and act on any wider business issues, that need to be reported back to the IS department, including audit considerations.
* Ability to work harmoniously and effectively within a team.
* Self-motivated and capable to handle autonomy.
* Capable of making design decisions with support of Architecture, Development and Testing teams.
Relationship Management (internal, external, 3rd parties)
* Excellent communication skills: persuasive, with the ability to present ideas verbally and in writing.
* Ability to communicate technical information to a non-technical audience is vital.
* Strong customer facing skills.
* Experience of dealing with 3rd parties in addressing business developments.
Complexity/Problem Solving
* The ideal candidate will have experience of a range of medium-large multi-user systems and will be able to quickly grasp the essentials of existing systems and how they interact.
* Solid analysis skills are essential.
* Strong investigative abilities and attention to detail are vital.
