ARM is actively seeking a Supply Chain Policy & Project Lead to work for our client based in the Oxford on a permanent basis.
As the Supply Chain Policy and Project Lead Lead you will be involved in the development and implementation of a supply chain emissions reduction strategy
Responsibilities
* Work with our clients team, supply chain partners and officers to determine science-based targets on supply chain emissions and related workstreams.
* Work with the Carbon Analyst in the climate team to target and continually improve reporting of scope 3 emissions from suppliers
* With a particular focus on high-emission contracts, particularly infrastructure schemes, support commissioning leads and category leads in the procurement team to include appropriate wording and specifications into client contracts and set up contract management systems that track emissions reduction
* Implement specific training for category managers and services in delivering low carbon contracts in key buying areas
* To work with Staff, Members, Partners and Suppliers to ensure the delivery of required outcomes, in a consistent way, using the right skills and the most appropriate delivery methods.
* To drive continuous improvement so we can be even more ambitious for our organisation and communities in the future.
* To support our Organisation, People and Partners to look forward, using analysis and evidence to inform plans, manage risks appropriately and apply insight to ensure the delivery of effective services for our local people.
* To learn and adapt to deliver positive outcomes in efficient and consistent ways, constructively challenging how services are provided and working together to build on our strengths.
Requirements
* Relevant degree or equivalent experience related to the scope of the of post
* Demonstrable experience in designing and implementing supply chain emission reduction policy and programmes in other private, public or 3rd sector organisations.
* Demonstrable commitment to continuing professional development related to the role such as membership to a professional body eg, IEMA
* Specialist knowledge in procurement and sustainability, specifically carbon reduction and climate resilience within supply chains.
* Previous experience of collaborating with an organisations supplier base, preferably on sustainable procurement related projects
* Understanding of working in local government and its procurement context
* Understanding of carbon reduction potential and approaches in major infrastructure schemes
