Job title - Supplier Quality Manager

In this role you will be responsible for improving Supplier Quality performance, driving root cause analysis and the on-going development of increased supplier capability. On top of that you will lead the Supplier Quality team to minimise risk, prevent non-conformance and manage transfer of production as well as communicate quality standards for suppliers to provide parts and assemblies to specification

Your main responsibilities:

* Work in partnership with the IPT to support the delivery of Quality products on time and at the right cost
* Personally represent Quality at the supplier and drive performance through prevention and early identification of issues
* Ensure the Quality team is managed to support achievement of the objectives
* Drive prioritized supplier non conformance management and root cause analysis
* Drive supplier quality management in line with company control procedures, and relevant regulatory standards e.g., AS9100 and AS9110
* Ensure Quality Assurance for new and existing suppliers including audits, source inspections, First Article Inspection sign-off and change control process management
* Effective flow down of Quality requirements to suppliers throughout Product Lifecycle
* Ensure best practice is adopted within the supply chain to ensure highest levels of product integrity
* Development of supplier capability via strategic and tactical improvement activities
* Develops, applies, revises and maintains supplier quality standards
* Works on supplier sites to observe quality systems and material manufacture processes
* Analyses, tracks and reports discrepancies and corrective actions taken when vendor products are rejected/returned on receipt or fail post acceptance
* Conformity Inspections and preparations for Customer Conformity inspections
* First Article Inspections at suppliers
* Co-operate with management to meet the employer's legal duties and take reasonable care of their own health and safety and that of others who may be affected by their acts or omissions

Your essential skills we are looking for:

* 5 - 10 years experience working in a supply chain organization - Preferred
* Previous experience as a supplier quality engineer or supplier developer within an electrical/electronic technology company (ideally Aerospace)
* Proven experience of leading improvement with Suppliers
* Proven background in Quality Assurance and thorough understanding of Quality tools and techniques
* Understanding of key aerospace Quality Standards such as AS/EN 9100 and NADCAP
* Supplier Relationship management
* Self starter with a desire for problem solving and process improvement
* Experience with manufacturing transfers of existing build to print product
* Proven experience of driving root cause with Suppliers
* Proven background in Quality Assurance and thorough understanding of Quality tools and techniques
* Understanding of key aerospace Quality Standards such as AS/EN 9100 and NADCAP
* Good technical engineering knowledge and ability to read engineering drawings
* Attention to detail and methodical approach
* Professional conduct and good communication skills to influence both internally
and externally

* Supervisory experience
