ARM has partnered with a large Aerospace client who is looking for an experienced Structural Engineer to join the Shock and Dynamics department and assist with ensuring structures and equipment are verified against naval shock requirements.
Responsibilities:
- Supporting Principal Engineers with the setting of sub-system requirements to meet whole boat naval shock requirements
- Supporting management of verification, validation (V&V) and qualification evidence to ensure sub-systems meet shock requirements
- Developing design justification documentation
- Supporting and undertaking assessments of structures and equipment subjected to naval shock load cases
- Providing design guidance at design reviews with respect to naval shock load cases
- Undertaking peer review checking activities
- Supporting physical shock test activities
Experience required:
- Hold a Mechanical Engineering Degree (or STEM degree)
- Knowledge of undertaking structural design calculations (i.e. bolted joints/bending moment / shear stress)
- Understanding of material strength properties and limits (elastic and plastic properties)
