Senior Vehicle Safety Engineer in Coventry, West Midlands

PermanentAre you an experienced Senior Vehicle Safety Engineer looking for a new opportunity? I'm currently recruiting a permanent role which is based in Coventry and offers a competitive salary.
Responsibilities
- You will provide guidance to the vehicle system, occupant and pedestrian protection CAE teams and interpret CAE model outputs. You'll also support problem solving and issue resolution.
- You'll stay abreast of upcoming changes in safety regulations & consumer protocols and guide the vehicle development process accordingly.
- You'll develop vehicle safety test plans, and also guide and support safety-related test activities.
- You'll be responsible for performing safety test data analysis to support safety attribute performance development, identifying and communicating direction for design change.
- You'll work with the Electrical teams to ensure that sensing and ADAS systems enable the vehicle safety targets to be met
- As a member of a small team, you'll also be expected to lead and/or support other safety-related activities and will be comfortable with embracing new challenges.
- Travel will be required within the UK (for example to test houses) and occasionally globally.
Requirements
- You will preferably have a bachelor's degree or equivalent in a relevant area with automotive industry experience working in an automotive vehicle safety area.
- You will be familiar with OEM and supplier product development systems.
- You will be able to demonstrate a track record of delivering automotive vehicle safety performance to global safety standards.
- You'll have experience of leading vehicle crash safety-related activities through the concept, virtual and physical testing phases of vehicle development.
- You' ll have expertise in the use of safety test data analysis software packages. You'll also be familiar with CAE tools and techniques and be able to interpret and critique results.
- You'll have experience of specifying, coordinating and delivering safety test activity (via external test houses).
- As a collaborative team player, you'll have effective communication skills, be comfortable interfacing with various stakeholders.
