Are you an experienced Senior Manager within Supplier Quality looking for a new opportunity? I'm currently recruiting a permanent role which is based in Gaydon and offers a competitive salary!

Responsibilities

  • Leading a team of engineers, coordinating their activities and priorities across multiple programs, working with all other departments from initial concept right through to series production.
  • Ensure all relevant new program deliverables and activities are met within the product development program timing, from parts approval, supporting setting the vehicle standards (VIS) and vehicle buy off.
  • Support the sourcing of new suppliers by strategic sourcing decision making using the Manufacturing Site Assessments.
  • Manage supplier development of new and existing suppliers as well as any supplier resourcing activities to minimise the impact of unstable and risk suppliers by working alongside MP&L, Manufacturing, R&D and Purchasing departments, to ensure Quality, Cost and Delivery.
  • Utilise the Aston Martin parts approval process to ensure perfect parts from the supplier base.
  • Work with suppliers to investigate root cause for any supplied parts concerns raised on parts as delivered and implement countermeasures.
  • Capture any Lessons Learned through new model introduction and series production and ensure these are addressed as part of new model changes by ensuring they are fed into design reviews through PMSTs, Design standards, FMEAs, and relevant test standards are updated to prevent reoccurrence.
  • Compile and present the status of open issues to all levels up to the CEO through the various quality reviews, including Quality Committee's, Plant Quality Review, Supplier Quality Reviews, Launch Control Meeting, Gateways, PSTs.
  • Investigate complex concerns leading or supporting other departments using Practical Problem-Solving methodology and driving any actions required internally or externally at suppliers to bring any non-conforming parts into specification.
  • Making recommendations if engineering changes are required, targeting time & cost effective countermeasure introduction, prioritising any legal or regulatory requirements.
  • Help maintain the departmental spend to ensure costs are kept on budget through control of resource, travel and associated expenses.
  • Ensure costs incurred due to any supplier issues are tracked, issued, recovered and manage the resolution of any cross charge disputes.
  • Support health and safety through 5S, near miss, accident reporting.

Requirements

  • BEng Hons or degree equivalent in an Engineering discipline is desirable.
  • Experience in developing and implementing strategies for critical cross-department activities.
  • Practical experience of problem solving with experience in supporting others through the process
  • Experience in managing projects or programmes and able to demonstrate capability to deliver against constraints such as time, budget, resource, etc.
  • Experience in managing a team to support departmental targets.
  • Experience in managing individuals through 1:1 reviews and appraisal process.
  • Experience using Word, Excel, Power point and Outlook.
  • Experience using CAD packages for investigation (Teamcentre/VIS mock-up) Experience using Goldcrest, eCMS, SharePoint.
  • Must be a confident presenter and have good communication skills.
  • Must be flexible with time and travel, be customer focused and able to build relationships across all areas of the business as well as within the supply base.
  • Must be able to travel independently, between sites as well as to suppliers.
