ARM have an exciting opportunity for a Senior Payroll Officer to join a Public Sector organisation on an initial 9-month contract.
The role is responsible for providing an accurate, effective, economic transactional processing service administering determining and putting into payment payroll and pension data.
Requirements:
* Keep up to date with all relevant technical legislation and best practice.
* Ensure that legislation and policy is accurately interpreted and applied,
* Provide specialist advice and support to Payroll Officers and staff as required.
* Problem solve to overcome complex day to day issues raised by the wider team.
* Work with the Payroll and HR Support Manager and operational support team to
* ensure that technology meets and will continue to meet all business needs in line with
* changing legislation and working practices.
* Assist the Payroll and HR Support Manager with work allocation across the team.
* Provide specialist knowledge to assist with the introduction of changes to the statutory and system process framework.
* Ensure all payroll and pensions output is in accordance with statutory requirements and service level agreements and that all payrolls, third party payments and PAYE.
Requirements:
* Understanding of Payroll and Pensions processing and legislation.
* To have a working knowledge of document management systems.
* Ability to provide expert technical advice and support to the team.
* Ability to influence and negotiate within the team, other sections and external.
* agencies to help development the service.
* Analytical, mathematical and problem-solving skills.
* Ability to quality check cases and assist with feedback of results.
* Ability to communicate effectively with a wide and diverse range of customers.
* Good oral and written communications.
