With multiple sites in Shalford, Dunsfold, Warwick and a new purpose-built HQ on its way in Windlesham, the Gordon Murray Group continues to grow with multiple vehicle programmes currently in development. As a result, we currently have exciting opportunities for a Senior Engineer Powertrain to join our Design department based in Shalford or Warwick

Responsibilities:

• Responsible for design and/or engineering a functional area or multiple systems or processes
• Develops new techniques and/or improved processes, materials or products
• Assists upper levels management and staff within a technical specialism
• Prepares full project documents

Formulates and solves problems

• Engineering responsibility (including design and release) of full vehicle powertrain systems:
• ICE Powertrain Systems
• Electric Powertrain Systems
• Power Electronics
• Powertrain Calibration
• Battery Systems
• Lubrication Systems
• Transmission Systems
• Powertrain NVH and Heatshielding
• Thermal Management Systems
• Design for manufacture and assembly for responsible components and assemblies
• Ensuring responsible designs meet legal compliance
• Work Package Management
• System package
• Subsystem specification and analysis
• Component concept design and analysis
• Component and system specification
• Technical procurement support
• Outsource supplier management to budget and timing
• Design Sizing Analysis
• Sub system loads
• Joints and interfaces
• Materials selection
• Bolt calculations

Experience and Qualifications:

• Engineering council professional registration
• Member of professional practice organisation member of local representative committee
• Involved with outreach activities focuses towards higher education and professional bodies
