Senior Engineer – Body Exterior in Surrey

Are you an experienced Body Exterior Engineer seeking a new permanent role? We are supporting a permanent position that is based in Shalford. An opportunity of working with one of the most iconic brands that create the most beautiful cars.

Responsibilities
* You will be responsible for design and/or engineering a functional area or multiple systems or processes
* Develops new techniques and/or improved processes, materials or products
* Assists upper levels management and staff within a technical specialism
* Prepares full project documents
* Formulates and solves problems
* Interacts with clients, customers, officials, contractors and others
* Regularly attends project meetings and presents specific aspects of engineering assignments.
* Identify and highlight any areas for continuous improvement
* Ensure that your technical knowledge and expertise is kept up to date
* Mentor and support professional development of all colleagues, particularly junior staff
* To perform any other duties that may well be reasonably expected within the remit of the role
* To ensure compliance with the Health, Safety and Environmental Policy requirements within areas of responsibility
* Engineering responsibility (including design and release) of full vehicle body systems;
Closures/ Panels/ Active Aero/ Body NVH/ Body Heatshielding/ Lighting/ Wiper Systems/ Sealing/ Ornamentation and Trim/ NVH/ Glazing
* Design for manufacture and assembly for responsible components
* Ensuring responsible designs meet legal compliance
* Work Package Management
* Design Sizing Analysis;
Sub system loads/ Joints and interfaces/ Materials selection/ Bolt calculations

Requirements
* Experience withing Body Exterior
* Degree within engineering or relevant
* Associate Member of professional practice organisation
* Possesses effective oral and written communication skills
* Assists with customer communications associated with specific assignments
* Interacts with contractors
