Rig Development & Test Technician in Nuneaton, Warwickshire

PermanentOur client are currently looking to recruit a Rig Development & Test Technician in the Nuneaton area.
Key Responsibilities
- Preparation, design, build and commission of automated test rigs and equipment to the highest possible standards.
- Involved in the setup of hydraulic, pneumatic, and servo electric systems.
- Setup of instrumentation and data acquisition systems.
- Review of data and reporting of all results.
- Support function groups on pre/post-test sample reviews as required.
- Support test method development and/or continuous improvement projects as required.
- You will manufacture and install instrumentation on test and on development vehicles / rigs ensuring that accurate records and calibration are maintained.
- You will work closely with engineers and suppliers; therefore, you will need to be able to interpret and action engineering requirements.
- You will support and guide technicians when necessary.
- You will support the maintenance, upgrades and issue diagnostics of rigs and vehicles.
- You must be able to manage large workloads in a high-pressure environment and prioritise accordingly.
The Ideal candidate
- You will be familiar within a test rig / manufacturing environment.
- Familiar with Hydraulics, pneumatics, servo electric, cyclic and environmental chamber systems.
- A creative approach to problem-solving with the ability to practically resolve issues and innovate where required.
- Proficient with all Microsoft Office tools.
- Show initiative, be proactive with the ability to manage own time and priorities.
- A flexible approach to work, with a desire to thrive in a dynamic and fast-moving environment.
- Strong communication skills (written, verbal and aural), good collaboration skills, and the ability to work effectively across teams within the organisation.
- Experience in reading and interpreting engineering drawings.
- Full driving license
Desirable skills
- Good working knowledge of PLC driven systems and low voltage wiring.
- Experience of building and commissioning of test properties such as rigs and lab cars.
- Familiarity with machining / fabrication machines / techniques.
- Create bespoke mechatronic cyclic solutions.
- Experience of using specialised diagnostic and test tools (e.g. CANoe, CANape, INCA)
- Knowledge of CAD system, 3d models interpretation (Catia V5)
