Are you an experienced Quality Manager looking for a new opportunity? I'm currently recruiting a permanent position based in Greatham. The role offers a competitive salary and is looking for someone as soon as possible!

Responsibilities

* To ensure that the Product & Service the company provides is fit for purpose and meets both external
& internal requirements, including legal compliance & customer specific requirements.
* To monitor and advise on the performance of the Quality Management System (QMS) & produce &
report data on performance of the QMS, measuring this data against set indicators.
* To liaise with other Department Managers and staff throughout the company to ensure that the QMS
is functioning properly.
* Responsible for providing appropriate quality metrics regarding Supplier Control and Approval.
* Supervises the customer complaint process to ensure that the Process is followed.
* Where appropriate, the Quality Manager advises on changes and their implementation and provides
training, tools, and techniques to enable others to achieve Acceptable Quality Levels.
* Develop relationships with Suppliers and work with Purchasing Department to establish quality
objectives, Control Plans, and develop further opportunities.
* Ensure in conjunction with the Environmental Representative, compliance with national and
international standards and legislation including ELV, RoHS, REACH etc.
* Assist in the application of environmental and health and safety standards.
* Update quality procedures and the quality manual ensuring company-wide understanding, compliance
and development.
* Identify relevant quality-related training needs and deliver training to maintain the effectiveness of the
business's activities.
* Overview of all quality concerns and ensure the execution of effective corrective action and
compliance with customers' specifications.
* Monitor, control, and resolution of Non-Conforming Materials.
* Plan and conduct Internal audits in accordance with authorised Schedule / Plan.
* Oversee calibration of measuring and test equipment.
* Conduct ISIRs and other sample-based inspections and approval.
* Oversee and conduct test and inspection activities.
* Liaise with 3rd party certification body regarding visit assessment and observations reported by them,
ensuring timely clearance.
* Manage a small team in the Quality Department.
* Maintains familiarity with the security-related compliance requirements and regulatory compliance
requirements in accordance with the agreement between Bluechip including ISO27000, Privacy, Data
Protection, SOX and other relevant ITS.
* Confirms and assists IT Department documents contractually in-scope IT controls, processes, and
reporting requirements.
* Reviews the adequacy of the IT control process documentation.
* Coordinates implementation of IT controls processes and reporting.
* Regularly validates implementation of IT controls process evidence submission.
* Determines audit readiness based on compliance status.

Requirements

* 5+ years of hands on involvement with maintenance and improvement of a Quality Systems
Management System in the Automotive Sector (IATF16949); Experience in Aerospace, Medical Device
and Industrial industries may be additionally beneficial.
* Familiarity with Regulations, Directives and Standards published by, ISO, IATF, MDS, etc.
* Good Technical writing and oral communication skills.
* Knowledgeable of Statistical Process Control & knowledge of Statistical Analysis Techniques.
* Firm grasp of product/process validation requirements and methods.
* Strong leadership skills.
* Excellent organisational skills.
* Bachelor of Science degree in engineering or other technical area, or well documented equivalent
experience associated with Automotive Tier 1 supplier.
* Qualified IATF16949 Internal Auditor (ISO Certified Lead Auditor certification is desirable).
* Certified Quality Engineer (CQE/CQI) or Green/Black Belt Six Sigma are desirable.
* Experienced in ensuring Risk and Opportunity are balanced
Essential Skills:
* Be able to participate and provide assurance that core automotive tools knowledge including FMEA,
SPC, MSA, Control Plans and PPAP elements are appropriately used.
* Demonstrate strong auditing skills
* Be able to effectively communicate and persuade others of the needs and intentions of every
Employee complying with the QMS.
