Purchasing manager in Guildford, Surrey

This position will report to the Director of procurement and will have a number of direct reports. Crucial to the success of this role is the development and implementation of procurement commodity strategies that effectively use the resources available and form part of the overall department and company strategies. You will also be responsible for setting SMART objectives to the team with quarterly reviews as well as providing weekly reports and KPI's.

The role covers the management of a strategic procurement team to deliver best practice and process results within the function of Purchasing and Supply Chain. As a Senior Manager they will also be leading cross functional teams across supplier development, material control and any other functions required to resolve supply chain issues and implement strategic goals. This includes the development of the function in support of Company Key Goals objectives and Strategies. The role does involve overseas travel.

This role is a Senior Manager position, therefore the successful candidate will be authorised to the spend limits pertinent to the role as described within the Group limits of authority. The successful candidate will be authorised to sign orders on behalf of the company and will be recognised within Gordon Murray automotive as part of the management team.

Requirements:

Results focused, motivational leader with a passion for supply chain and procurement

Previous procurement management experience and team management experience

Broad spectrum of negotiation and general purchasing experience with industry knowledge and implementation of automotive best practice

Extensive Procurement experience within a manufacturing environment

Educated to degree level or equivalent, preferably with CIPS qualification
