Project Safety Manager – Combat Systems V4 in Surrey

ContractARM are recruiting for a Project Safety Engineer for a Long term contract opportunity with a Key Defence Client based in Surrey.
This is a great opportunity to work on projects for a market leading defence client and they are offering a hybrid working model.
IR35 Determination: Inside
As a Project Safety Engineer you will be working on a key defence project and be responsible for;
* Management of the Combat System safety team in the development and delivery of safety case documentation, as stated in the 'Skills and Experience Section' above.
* Delivery of Safety deliverables in accordance with Def Stan 00-056 and 00-055.
* Management of Safety input to life-cycle management core engineering processes and design reviews (e.g. PDR and CDR).
* Management of Safety processes and procedures within the SMP.
* Liaison with Whole Boat authorities, business level Safety Management Systems (SMS) and sub-contractor SMS to ensure CS safety obligations are met.
* Provision safety SME input to Combat Systems projects.
You should have the following experience:
* The delivery of Safety Case Reports, Assessing Safety Case validity and safety assurance including ALARP assessments and providing Safety Argument for Design Authority Approval
* Delivery of the Safety Management Plan (SMP), this includes;
o Maintenance of the processes and strategies within the Safety Management Plan.
o Other Safety deliverables associated with the project.
* Delivery of functional safety analysis using recognised methods, including;
o Fault Tree Analysis (FTA), Failure Modes and Effect Analysis (FMEA), Zonal Hazard Analysis (ZHA), Bow Tie Analysis.
* Comprehensive risk management skills. This includes Hazard log management, Hazard Identification, Hazard Analysis, risk estimation and reduction, ALARP argument.
* Software Safety assurance.
* MoD standards Def Stan 00-056 and Def Stan 00-055. Experience of ASEMS is desirable.
* A sound understanding of system development lifecycle against the standard 'V-model' from requirement definition to customer acceptance.
* Oversight of supplier safety compliance, in accordance with legislative and contractual safety requirements.
* Experience with Systems Engineering tools such as Enterprise Architect and DOORS is desirable.
* Compilation of Safety Arguments using Goal Structuring Notation (GSN) is desirable
Due to the nature of the sector, you will need to hold current and active for UK Security Clearance.
