Project Planning Manager in Crewe, Cheshire

ARMs prestigious automotive client is hiring for a project planning manager, based in Crewe on a contract basis paying up to £450 per day outside IR35. This is a hybrid role and will likely be a long-term contract...

About you...

* Ability to work complex technical systems
* Experience in project planning (Mandatory) especially in the Automotive space/ aerospace
* Familiarity with Microsoft Project (Desirable)
* Familiarity with Cplace (VW group system) - this is not essential
* 3-5 years of experience in the field (OEM) is suitable
* Experience in planning using the System Engineering model
* Degree or equivalent in Engineering, Business or Administration would be advantageous

About the role...

* Creates the connected project plans for a single project at a vehicle level
* Works cross-functionally to ensure system and subsystem plans are generated and connected to Vehicle level
* Run regular cross-functional planning reviews to track progress against agreed plans
* Implement and track mitigation actions from identified risks
* Escalate any issues and risks to the Programme manager
* Dynamically update the plan and coordinate status updates
* Ensures robust change control of the plan
* Identify impacts to plan; including from inputs
* Generate metrics and project status reporting
* Active critical path management
* Extracts resource data/profiles from the schedules to provide a monthly view of resource requirements over the length of the projects
* Responsible for the overall gateway plan
* Create and issues the key dates including issue control

Decision authority...

* Committee chair with decision-making authority
* Process owner of the planning process for one project
* Decision authority to advise methodology and tools for the processes
* Decided based on the Project Decision Policy in which forum, committee the risk and change request is responsible for the decision
