Project Engineer - Electrical Architecture

The Role:

  • Responsible for developing and maintaining the overall network and diagnostic architecture of the electrical architecture of the vehicle. Be the single point of contact for all activities relating to AUTOSAR compliant signal database and diagnostics database.
  • Work with the Feature Engineering team to understand the impact of feature and capability changes on the network architecture. Drive feature teams to deliver the work products required to request changes to the network architecture.
  • Govern and manage the process to request changes to the electrical architecture. Be Responsible for releasing all the AUTOSAR compliant ARXML files to the suppliers.
  • In conjunction with the Principal Engineer for SW Integration & Validation, plan the various Network Integration iterations to improve the maturity of the electrical architecture.
  • Lead or participate in AUTOSAR Software development discussions with suppliers and AUTOSAR solution providers.
  • Support the supplier nomination process from a technical perspective and prepare/approve Electrical Architecture Requirements & Component Software Requirement sections of all relevant documentation used during the RFQ process.
  • Tier 1 supplier management and co-ordination including support for Procurement, Logistics and Quality throughout the project lifecycle.

The Person:

  • Proven track record of designing and delivering Autosar compliant ARXML files using tools like Vector PREEVISION
  • Wide-ranging in-depth expert understanding of software features/functions, electrical architectures and systems design/integration.
  • Working knowledge of AUTOSAR tools and processes. Must be able to manage multiple supplier teams to deliver software using AUTOSAR development processes and practices.
  • Working knowledge of CAN, FlexRay, automotive ethernet, LIN networks and vehicle diagnostics.
  • Articulate, self-motivated, inspiring individual who can work well under pressure. Demonstrates resilience and fosters good working relationships at all levels of the organisation.
  • Possession of an Electronics, Control Systems, Automotive or similar honours engineering degree. Other recognised engineering qualifications combined with relevant significant experience will be considered.
  • No visa or other restrictions for working in the UK or travelling in the European Union.
