Product Quality Engineer
12 Month - Fixed Term

£43ph Inside IR35

We are looking for a PQE to oversee and provide technical guidance to internal customers, team members and stakeholders. You will be responsible for Providing direct quality support to the shop floor, reducing customer disruptions, improving yield, and reducing losses for the business.

Day to day you'll be responsible for -

  • Ownership of quality requirements, supporting the Operations and Engineering teams
  • Ownership of root cause identification & corrective action for internal and external non-conformances
  • Responsibility for meeting product quality needs, demonstrating effective problem-solving skills
  • Support daily Quality and Operations reporting rhythms through standard business meetings
  • Providing "Toolbox Talk" style training on production/repair quality and inspection procedures
  • Identification of opportunities for improvement projects
  • Performing process/product audits, and potentially First Article Inspections
  • Providing support with customer communication when required

Experience & Qualifications we are looking for -

  • Experience in aerospace Quality/Production/MRO within a manufacturing and/or maintenance organisation
  • Strong customer focus and understanding of customer needs
  • Knowledge of composite layup & cure, machining, assembly, NDT, and metrology
  • Knowledge of metallic repair, machining, assembly, NDT, and metrology
  • Strong analytical and organisational skills, ability to work with digital tools and data
  • Good oral, written communication, and presentation skills
  • Good interpersonal and team skills, ability to influence others and lead small teams through group activities
  • Able to lead initiatives of moderate scope and impact, coordinating several projects simultaneously
  • Understanding of Toll Gate, NPI and APQP processes
  • Relevant technical education or degree with experience in Quality (or equivalent)
  • Proven experience in QC Engineering, Quality System Planning and Quality Improvement methods
  • Working knowledge of EASA/CAA Part 21G and Part 145 approvals
  • Working knowledge of AS9100 and ISO9001 requirements
  • Certified auditing skills

Six Sigma trained, or Green Belt certification, preferred (but must demonstrate an understanding of Lean principles)
