As a result, we currently have exciting opportunities for a Principal Engineer - Body Exterior Systems to join the team based in Shalford, Surrey.

Job Overview:

As the Principal Engineer for Body Exterior Systems, you will be at the forefront of shaping the future of automotive design. Leveraging your extensive experience and technical prowess, you will drive the development of innovative body exterior systems, setting new benchmarks for functionality, aesthetics, and performance.

Responsibilities:

• Technical Leadership: Lead the design and development of state-of-the-art body exterior systems, providing technical direction and mentorship to the engineering team.
• Innovation and Optimization: Drive innovation in body exterior design, leveraging cutting-edge technologies and materials to optimize performance, safety, and aesthetic appeal.
• Cross-functional Collaboration: Collaborate seamlessly with interdisciplinary teams, including aerodynamics, materials engineering, and manufacturing, to ensure holistic integration of body exterior components.
• Quality Assurance: Implement rigorous quality control processes to ensure the highest standards in body exterior design and manufacturing.
• Project Management: Oversee and manage projects related to body exterior systems, ensuring adherence to timelines, budgets, and design specifications.

Qualifications:

• Education: Bachelor's/Master's/Ph.D. in Mechanical Engineering, Automotive Engineering, or relevant experience
• Experience: Proven experience as a Principal Engineer with a focus on body exterior systems, preferably in the automotive or aerospace industry.
• Technical Expertise: In-depth knowledge of body exterior design, development, and optimization, with hands-on experience in relevant engineering tools and software.
• Leadership Skills: Strong leadership and project management skills, with a track record of successfully leading engineering teams.
• Innovative Thinking: A creative thinker with a passion for pushing the boundaries of engineering possibilities.
