Job Overview:
As an Operations Specialist for Oil and Chemical Tankers, you will play a crucial role in ensuring the efficient and safe transportation of valuable cargo. Your responsibilities will encompass coordinating and overseeing various aspects of tanker operations, from loading and unloading procedures to voyage planning and compliance with international maritime regulations. This position demands meticulous attention to detail, strong communication skills, and a deep understanding of the intricacies involved in the transportation of oil and chemical products.

Key Duties:
1. Collaborate with vessel masters and shore-based teams to plan and execute safe loading and discharge operations.
2. Monitor and manage tanker schedules, ensuring timely arrivals and departures while optimizing voyage efficiency.
3. Conduct thorough documentation and compliance checks to adhere to international maritime regulations.
4. Address and resolve operational challenges promptly, coordinating with relevant stakeholders.
5. Communicate with port authorities, terminal operators, and agents to facilitate smooth operations.
6. Implement and maintain safety protocols to minimize environmental impact and protect crew and cargo.
7. Utilize industry software and systems to track vessel movements, cargo quantities, and performance metrics.
8. Provide timely and accurate reports to internal and external stakeholders regarding operational activities.
9. Stay updated on industry trends, regulations, and best practices to enhance operational efficiency.
10. Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including chartering, technical, and commercial departments, to achieve overall business objectives.
Requirements:
1. Previous experience in tanker operations or sailing on the operational deck side of the business.
2. In-depth knowledge of international maritime regulations and industry standards.
3. Strong communication and interpersonal skills for effective collaboration.
4. Meticulous attention to detail and problem-solving capabilities.
5. Ability to thrive in a fast-paced and dynamic work environment.
6. Familiarity with industry-specific software and tools.
7. Flexibility to adapt to changing operational requirements.
8. Willingness to travel occasionally to international offices or vessel locations as needed.
