Mechanical CAD Engineer

You will be working with a leading Defence and Aerospace company as a Mechanical CAD Engineer based in New Malden on a contract basis Outside IR35.
As a Mechanical CAD Engineer you will be a key member of the Hardware Engineering team, you will be working to create mechanical designs and drawings to deliver on a Defence maritime platform management project.

Key Responsibilities you will be doing:

• Produce and review mechanical piece part drawings and General Assemblies (GA) using Creo Elements
• Support the creation and management of Bills of Materials (BOM)
• Provide mechanical engineering support to the Mechanical Design Engineering team
• Define and apply appropriate Geometric, Dimensioning and Tolerancing (GD&T) to mechanical designs
• Define and apply appropriate standards, materials and finishes in accordance with project requirements
• Maintain documents and drawings through development and production changes
• Support schedule and work package estimates, where required
• Collaboratively support other engineering functions from a mechanical drawing perspective
• To be aware of and comply with company standards of conduct and all relevant statutory requirements

The essential qualifications / experience you will require are:

• Strong experience in an Mechanical CAD position
• Proficient user of Creo Elements
• Knowledge of GD*T and BS 8888

Preferably you will have the following qualifications / experience:

• Experience of working within a regulated industry (e.g. automotive, aviation, defence, rail etc.)
