M&E Quantity Surveyor

£60-£65k + car / car allowance

My client who is a highly successful Mechanical & Electrical Engineering Contractor, established over 40 years ago, is looking to recruit an M&E QS to provide full commercial support to ensure the Project Manager and delivery team are aware of all costs and contractual matters involved on the project

Main Duties:

Post tender negotiations to take a bid to contract status

Maintain contract documentation and advise on pre-tender and post contract matters

Preparation and issue of contractual letters to clients and/or sub-contractors

Post contract liaison with design team and clients

Carry out take-offs for material procurement

Sub-contract negotiation and letting

Preparation and submission of interim valuations

Manage and value variations

Agreement and certification of sub-contractors interim valuations and final accounts

Preparation and submission of client final account

Agreement of final accounts

Cost value reconciliation and ongoing project reporting

Programme management and evaluation

Essential Skills / Qualifications:

HNC/HND/BSc in Quantity Surveying or Commercial Management

Excellent communication skills

High degree of personal motivation

Commercial acumen

Ability to work as part of a team supporting both the operational team and peer group

Manage numerous activities across a number of projects simultaneously

Outgoing personality essential for dealing directly with clients and their design teams

Strong negotiation skills

Flexibility with regard to working across all areas of the business, and hours to meet the requirements of this challenging position.

Enterprising, commercial and planned approach

Willing and able to take responsibility

Ability to add value to the role, department and company as a whole.
