Manufacturing Engineer in Chichester, West Sussex

Manufacturing Engineers are required to work on a contract basis for a well-known luxury automotive brand based in Chichester.

This is a 12-month contract, Inside IR35.

Key Responsibilities

• Conduct evaluations for feasibility and cost for New Product Introduction (NPI) of low-volume, high-value products for manufacture.
• Project management of Interior Trim Centre activities through the entire NPI process including evaluation, engineering / development, industrialisation and launch.
• Participate in design and engineering reviews - conduct risk-based evaluations of production processes and implement risk mitigations to streamline the delivery of new products and satisfy the defined quality standards.
• Plan and deliver evaluation trials, prototypes, and initial trial batch production through to integration of a stable process capable of delivering the required volume output.
• Perform and lead cross-functional problem-solving using DMAIC methodology.
• Develop, improve and industrialise new and existing manufacturing processes.

Skills & Qualifications

• Knowledge of NPI, APQP & Project Management.
• Proficiency in 2D and 3D CAD
• Knowledge of Lean Manufacturing and Continuous Improvement techniques
• Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to manage complex technical issues
• Excellent communication skills to collaborate with cross-functional team

Education Requirements

• Degree in Mechanical, Manufacturing or Automotive Engineering
