Lead Engineer – Valkyrie Aftersales in Gaydon, Warwickshire

To be responsible for delivering exceptional customer service to Valkyrie owners. This will entail planning and supporting General servicing, performance upgrades, Fault diagnosis and on event engineering support.
The role will involve domestic and overseas travel and will require an applicant who is a self-starter and has relevant whole car knowledge and experience in a fast-paced environment i.e motorsport or vehicle development.
The Vehicle Aftersales Engineer will be responsible for supporting the Head of Valkyrie Aftersales to provide customers Technical advice and solutions any problems they may encounter. The engineer will also be responsible for assisting the creation of processes and procedures to manage Valkyries in the field.
Key Duties & Responsibilities:
- Lead a small team of technicians to ensure customer vehicles are maintained to the highest standard
- Management of vehicle servicing and fault diagnosis and rectification to ensure efficient & timely completion
- Management of vehicle preparation, updates & specification, both hardware & software.
- Coordination of team, vehicle and part logistics
- Manage telematic data to identify issues in the field
- Completion of vehicle fault reports and record keeping
- Responsible for tracking & reporting activity and component changes.
- Ensure concerns are raised on relevant test issues and track progress through to closure.
- Communication of vehicle issues & updates to other test teams or test vehicle users.
- Be prepared to support vehicles outside of core hours and abroad if required.
- Reprogramming of Electronic control units if required
Qualification & Experience:
- High level of vehicle testing experience with applicable driver trained licence and permits for test locations.
- Knowledge of, and familiarity with Valkyrie and its unique systems
- Engineering degree (or extensive equivalent experience).
- Hands on workshop experience desirable.
- In depth knowledge of CAN architecture and fault diagnosis
- Excellent organisational skills both of self and others. Able to manage and prioritise multiple conflicting demands on time as well as the ability to meet deadlines.
- Good level of verbal and written communication.
- Strong MS Office Skills including Outlook, Excel and Word.
- Must be able to integrate quickly into a dynamic and successful department.
- Highly motivated and self-starting. Happy to work under minimal supervision.
