ARM are working with a global engineering company that are looking for a Junior Electrical Assurance Engineer to join the experienced team based in Kent. About You:
An understanding of the electricity metering industry would be highly beneficial, but is not essential as full training will be given. AIt is important that you have a willingness to learn detailed knowledge of metering principles needed to deliver technical assurance audits on industry metering systems used within the Capacity and CfD markets. You will ideally also have:
- Proven level of competence to HNC or degree level in Electrical Engineering or similar.
- Be able to interpret electrical schematics.
- Capability to work to deadlines.
- Good attention to detail.
- Competent IT skills
- Excellent communication skills
What you will be doing:
- Assisting the completion of a full end-to-end desk-based technical assurance audit on the metering system of entrants to the capacity market (CM) under the electricity market reform scheme.
- Understand, based on governing documents and CM rules, how to pass, fail and make observations within an audit.
- Analyse Single line diagrams and electrical schematics ensuring that the requirements of the CM rules are met.
- Analyse test certificates for relevant equipment such as meters and instrument transformers, recognising the correct accuracy class of equipment, ratings and any errors.
- Calculating and assessing errors to ensure they fall within acceptable levels for the specific equipment / system.
- Check that any commissioning test results prove the metering system is recording accurately and that the quoted CT/VT ratios are correct.
This is a full time permanent role, based out of the office in Kent. There will be scope for flexible / hybrid working once up to speed.
