Role Overview:
As an Engineer Superintendent in Portsmouth, you will play a pivotal role in ensuring the reliability and performance of critical maritime assets. This is a hands-on role that requires technical expertise, attention to detail, and a dedication to excellence. Please note that security clearance will be necessary to work alongside the Ministry of Defence (MOD).
Key Duties and Responsibilities:
1. **Maintenance Oversight:** Supervise and coordinate maintenance activities, ensuring compliance with safety regulations and quality standards.
2. **Asset Management:** Manage and maintain a fleet of maritime assets, optimizing their operational efficiency and lifespan.
3. **Technical Support:** Provide technical expertise and guidance to the engineering team, troubleshooting issues, and implementing solutions.
4. **Budget Management:** Monitor and manage the budget for maintenance and repair projects, optimizing resources effectively.
5. **Safety Compliance:** Ensure all engineering activities adhere to safety protocols and regulations, promoting a culture of safety within the team.
6. **Documentation and Reporting:** Maintain accurate records of maintenance activities, prepare reports, and communicate progress to stakeholders.
7. **Team Leadership:** Lead and mentor a team of skilled engineers, fostering their professional development and growth.
Requirements:
- Bachelor's degree in Engineering or a related field (or equivalent experience).
- Proven experience in maritime engineering or a similar field.
- COC1 (Chief Engineer Unlimited License).
- Strong leadership and communication skills.
- Ability to obtain security clearance for MOD projects.
- Commitment to safety and quality.
- No international travel required; this role is based in Portsmouth, England.
