With multiple sites in Shalford, Dunsfold, Warwick and a new purpose-built HQ on its way in Windlesham, the Gordon Murray Group continues to grow with multiple vehicle programmes currently in development. As a result, we currently have exciting opportunities for a Engineer - Drawings & Standards to join the team based in Shalford, Surrey.

Responsibilities:

  • Drawing Development: Lead the creation and development of detailed engineering drawings for various automotive components and systems. Ensure compliance with industry standards, internal specifications, and regulatory requirements.
  • Standards Compliance: Stay abreast of engineering standards, regulations, and industry best practices. Implement and maintain drawing standards to ensure consistency and quality across engineering documentation.
  • CAD Proficiency: Utilize advanced CAD software (e.g., CATIA, SolidWorks) to create accurate and detailed engineering drawings. Collaborate with design and engineering teams to translate design concepts into precise technical drawings.
  • Document Control: Establish and maintain document control procedures to manage revisions, approvals, and distribution of engineering drawings. Collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure accurate and timely documentation updates.
  • Quality Assurance: Uphold stringent quality standards in the development of engineering drawings, ensuring accuracy, clarity, and compliance with design intent. Participate in design reviews and collaborate with design engineers to resolve any discrepancies.

Qualifications:

  • Education: Bachelor's/Master's degree in Mechanical Engineering, Automotive Engineering, or a related field.
  • Experience: Proven experience in the creation and development of engineering drawings within the automotive or engineering sector.
  • Technical Skills: Proficiency in CAD software and in-depth knowledge of engineering standards and drawing practices.
  • Attention to Detail: Meticulous attention to detail and accuracy in developing and reviewing technical drawings.
