DSN Analyst (Quality Test Engineer) in Peterborough, Cambridgeshire

ContractARMs client is seeking an Emissions Measurement Technician for a large company based in Peterborough, UK. Working in the state-of-the-art Europe Research & Development Centre.
The main function of the role is to research and test the design, functionality, and maintenance of products, equipment, systems, and processes and develop quality standards. A typical quality engineer has the ability to read and interpret blueprints and evaluate product integrity and standards.
About you:
Skills:
* Creativity, verbal and written communication skills, analytical and problem-solving ability.
* 5-7 years experience
* Basic leadership and mentoring skills necessary to provide support and constructive performance feedback.
* Ability to read and interpret blueprints, technical drawings, schematics, and computer-generated reports.
* Previous experience with computer applications and software related to the engineering field, such as Computer-Aided Design (CAD).
Technical Skills
(Required)
- Electronics troubleshooting.
- Knowledge of Caterpillar machines.
- Knowledge of electrohydraulic control systems and GNSS.
(Desired)
- Knowledge of Caterpillar Grade systems or familiarity with the Caterpillar DSN system.
- Solid technical skills in troubleshooting gained through work at Caterpillar or another OEM Dealer.
- Think Big graduates.
Soft Skills
(Required)
- Solid communications skills.
- Ability to manage customers and deliver customer service.
About the role:
The primary contribution will be to assist Dealers with troubleshooting system issues on Grade systems. These systems involve electronic hardware and software as well as GPS and other location technologies. This position may also assist in the updating of troubleshooting information and other technical documentation.
Devises sampling procedures and designs and develops forms and instructions for recording, evaluating, and reporting quality and reliability data.
* Establishes program to evaluate precision and accuracy of production equipment and testing, measurement, and analytical equipment and facilities.
* May write training material and conduct training sessions on quality control activities.
* May specialise in areas of quality control engineering, such as design, incoming material, process control, product evaluation, product reliability, inventory control, metrology, automated testing, software, research and development, and administrative application.
* Directs workers engaged in measuring and testing products and tabulating data concerning materials, product, or process quality and reliability.
