A leading marine diesel manufacturer is recruiting for a workshop engineer (diesel fitter) to join the team in Newcastle to assist with the stripping and rebuilding of diesel engines.
Duties will include;
- Conducting complete overhauls of high-speed engines.
- Undertaking assigned jobs according to technical direction.
- Maintaining basic equipment and identifying and correcting faults.
- Reporting and maintaining contact with the manager to establish workload and spares requirements.
The successful candidate will have previous diesel fitting experience and can confidently conduct a full strip and rebuild of high-speed diesel engines.
Ancillary equipment knowledge is ideal but not necessary.
HSE knowledge and awareness is preferred as well as diesel experience within a marine, industrial or heavy lift environment.
