Gordon Murray Advanced Engineering combines the expertise of visionary designers and engineers to bring disruptive technologies and low environmental impact innovations to the mobility sector. Critical to the implementation of iStream Superlight are integral modules and systems engineered by Gordon Murray Electronics which deliver a range of electrical functionalities - these technologies also being scaleable to serve the delivery demands of any specific platform configuration.

With multiple sites in Shalford, Dunsfold, and Warwick, the Gordon Murray continues to grow with multiple vehicle programmes currently in development. As a result, we currently have exciting opportunities for Development Quality Engineer to join our Team in Millbrook with visits in Dunsfold, and Shelford.

Responsibilities:

  • Whole Vehicle Quality Issue Reporting (8D Format):

Identify and document quality concerns related to the entire vehicle.
Utilize the 8D problem-solving methodology to thoroughly investigate and resolve issues.

  • Vehicle Knowledge and Hardware/Attribute Concerns:

Demonstrate a deep understanding of all vehicle systems, with a focus on hardware and attribute concerns.

  • Stakeholder Communication:

Collaborate with engineering, production, and aftersales teams to communicate quality issues effectively.
Ensure clear and timely communication to drive issue resolution.

  • Collaboration with Development Engineers:

Work closely with development engineers to gain insights into vehicle issues encountered during testing.

  • New Part Testing and Root Cause Analysis:

Organize and oversee the testing of new vehicle parts.
Drive the identification and elimination of root causes for quality concerns.

  • Vehicle History and Part Number Records:

Maintain comprehensive records of vehicle history and part numbers during different testing phases.
Ensure accurate documentation and traceability.

Experience and Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in Engineering or a related field.
  • Proven experience as a Quality Engineer, preferably in the automotive industry.
  • Familiarity with the 8D problem-solving process.
  • In-depth knowledge of vehicle systems, with a focus on hardware and attribute concerns.
  • Excellent communication skills with the ability to interact with various stakeholders.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities.
  • Detail-oriented and committed to maintaining accurate records.
  • Willingness to travel to Windlesham, Dunsfold, and Shelford as required.
  • Flexibility to work from home on occasion with management approval.
