Are you an experienced CAE Project Engineer seeking a new permanent role? We are supporting a permanent position that is Based in Gaydon.

Work within a team of Vehicle Dynamics and Chassis Simulation Engineers, deliver state of the art real time in the loop solutions, hardware, and software, to support assessment of chassis and ADAS features in a laboratory environment.

Responsibilities
* Responsible for creating the HiL system and vehicle simulation environments (hardware and software) and models in alignment with functional requirements, using model-based engineering interacting with the Driver in the Loop Environment
* Integration of plant models using development tools such as VI-CarRealTime, MATLAB/Simulink and dSpace environment for Scalexio and virtual road network and traffic scenarios in SCANeR environment
* Ensures the test platform is enabled for either manual or automated test cases in collaboration with the target customer
* Responsible for functional verification of Chassis Active System & ADAS software calibration
* Maintenance of the test platform inclusive of updates to hardware, software, models, framework, measurement, instrumentation, and data extraction
* Triage to identify non-product test platform defects, subsequent root cause analysis and fix
* Cross collaboration and technical forums with other architects & developers to drive shared best practice and continuous learning in conjunction with SW & HW suppliers

Requirements
* Experience in real-time simulation environments, such as SCANeR, VI-CarRealTime, MATLAB/Simulink within the Automotive/Motorsport industry
* Experience of modelling physical systems for HiL simulation in the following domains, but not limited to engine simulation, vehicle dynamics and traffic, sensors, and actuators, with focus on ADAS and Chassis sensors
* Strong technical knowledge of modelling communication protocols used in Automotive sector (CAN, LIN, Flexray, Ethernet) using either dSPACE or Vector software
* Strong technical expertise of HiL hardware (e.g dSPACE Scalexio, NI PXI) and Software (dSPACE RTI, CDNG, LabView, Veristand)
* Proven technical expertise of delivering complex HiL test environments with 2 or more real ECUs in the loop.
* Proven experience in functional development, calibration, design/release, testing between chassis systems, driving assistance, or autonomous vehicle control software
* Awareness of testing methodologies according to standard ISO-29119, part 4
* 1yr+ experience using dSPACE Scalexio and related software (dSPACE RTI, CDNG, AUD)
* Proven technical expertise of delivering complex HiL test environments with more than 5 real ECUs in the loop.
* Experience with Driver-in-the-Loop (DiL) technologies for vehicle attributes' development
* Solid understanding of chassis systems development process with CAE tools
* Experience in chassis and powertrain control system high-level control strategy and functional safety development and calibration
* Comprehension of technical innovations and concept assessment
* BEng in relevant discipline (Control/Electrical/Mechanical Engineering, Automotive Engineering, Mechatronics Engineering, Physics, etc.)
* Excellent knowledge of chassis hardware and Control Systems
* Competence in post-processing tools development
* Object-oriented programming and/or IT infrastructure skills & experience - such as Python or C/C++, networking, databases, data management, software version control, network license servers, Linux, computer graphics
