Buyer – Powertrain in Guildford, Surrey

Buyer (Powertrain) - Guildford - Permanent - Negotiable Salary £££

ARM are supporting a world leading Automotive design company with the recruitment of a Buyer on a permanent basis.

As a Buyer you will work within a cross-functional team to identify, evaluate, and deliver VA/VE projects. Work collaboratively with Engineering to develop and deliver programmes involving suppliers in product development

Responsibilities:

* To source and procure components/services.
* Assist in further development of existing suppliers.
* Assess potential suppliers both technically and commercially.
* Provide support to assess and report on new technology/services and applications
* Liaise with internal Customers to ensure Service Satisfaction and work on commercial aspects relevant to their requirements.
* Undertake cost-down activities as directed by the Purchasing and Commodity Manager
* Assist with proposal costings, as required.
* To ensure all activities undertaken are in line with current policies and procedures
* Assist in day to day running of the Purchasing Department and all activities associated with it.

Requirements:

* Strong negotiator and ability to follow processes.
* Purchasing in a manufacturing environment.
* Knowledge of manufacturing technologies.
* Strong analytical skills
* Experience working within Automotive industry (Desirable)
* Travel to supplier sites when required.
* Excellent organisational and communication skills in addition to strong Excel skills
