Department description:
Assembly Process Planning, Hams Hall.
The key responsibility for our department is to integrate new products into series production. In doing so we offer an interesting and challenging insight in the world of assembly planning of complex products.
As a key part of assembly process planning for combustion engines we are working directly in Plant Hams Hall interfacing with the product development departments, equipment suppliers and the operations department in the plant in order to integrate new products in our production line.

Responsibilities:
- To manage a multi-functional project team for the successful achievement of targets within Quality, Time and Budget constraints
- To integrate new engines into new or existing assembly facilities
- To work with external suppliers to achieve integrations within non-production periods
- To integrate into the lead planning structure supporting central planning colleagues with activities such as TAU and FTB analysis
- To support the plants achievement of IATF16949 Quality Management Systems standards
- To create and update Quality standard documentation such as Method statements, FMEA's, Production Control Plans and capability studies

Candidate requirements:
Manufacturing Knowledge & Experience within Assembly & Test processes
Knowledge of Petrol Engine Assembly & Test Processes (3 & 4 cylinder)
Assembly process planning knowledge
BWM planning and operation system knowledge
Experience of working with/within a production team/environment.
Experience in having delivered a change/project in a production process.
Should also have knowledge, understanding and experience of the following:
· Assembly, tightening and vision system knowledge for Engine assembly
· Project management
· Line Balancing (MTM Time studies)
· Commissioning / Capability Studies
· FMEA Analysis
· SAP Systems
· VPS/ Lean manufacturing principles
· Process sheets/ work instruction
· Quality Management tools
· There will also be the requirement to travel to suppliers and other BMW plants inside and outside of the UK

Qualifications:
- HNC, Degree or equivalent in Mechanical, Automotive, Manufacturing or other relevant Engineering subject
- Project experience
- English language skills
- German language skills preferable
- Good Microsoft applications skills such as Excel and Powerpoint
- Hardworking
- Self-motivated
- Flexible
